Donald Trump Accuses Joe Biden of Crossing 'Sacred Threshold'

Donald Trump has said that President Joe Biden had crossed a "sacred threshold" of illegality over his alleged backing legal action against him.

The former president lashed out at the incumbent in a blistering post on his social media platform, Truth Social, as he faces multiple federal indictments.

He wrote: "At what point are the actions of a sitting president, using LAWFARE against his opponent for purposes of election Interference, considered ILLEGAL? I believe, as do various highly respected legal scholars, that Crooked Joe Biden has long since crossed over that very sacred threshold!!!"

While Trump has sought to blame the president for the indictments, the charges against him have been brought by grand juries in Georgia, Washington D.C., Florida and Manhattan.

Newsweek has contacted representatives for both Trump and Biden by email to comment on this story.

Trump, the expected Republican candidate for November's presidential election, is facing two federal indictments, which he has long claimed are politically motivated and designed to hamper his reelection efforts in 2024.

One is a federal case brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith alleging that he worked to overturn the results of the 2020 election, won by Biden. He has been charged with conspiring to defraud the United States, conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding, obstructing a congressional proceeding and conspiracy against rights.

Another suit accuses Trump of falsifying business records over alleged hush-money payments made to former adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep an alleged affair secret in the weeks before his 2016 election. Prosecutors led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg allege the payments were part of a scheme to stop potentially damaging stories about the Republican from becoming public.

Trump has frequently criticized the Democrat for having "weaponized" the FBI and the Department of Justice with such legal action.

In September, he said Biden had "started a whole new Banana Republic" in terms of his political campaigns.

"The Crooked Joe Biden Campaign has thrown so many Indictments and lawsuits against me that Republicans are already thinking about what we are going to do to Biden and the communists when it's our turn," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"They have started a whole new Banana Republic way of thinking about political campaigns. So cheap and dirty, but that's where America is right now. Be careful what you wish for!"

In another post, Trump accused Biden's team of "election interference" in relation to the ongoing and historic legal issues the former president is facing.

"The fake Indictments and lawsuits against me, 8 of them, all come out of the Biden campaign for purposes of election interference," Trump wrote. "This is their new way of rigging the election, and it won't hold up. The fascists & Marxists are destroying our once great country but, WE WILL WIN & MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

In October, he threatened the Democrat with prosecution over the indictments.

In total, Trump is facing four criminal indictments and a total of 91 felony charges. He has denied any wrongdoing.
