Donald Trump Calls MSNBC Owner 'Slimeball' in Rant Against Network

Donald Trump has accused MSNBC of being "nothing but a 24 hour hit job" against him while also attacking Brian Roberts, the CEO and chairman of Comcast which owns the channel.

In a post on Truth Social, the frontrunner in the 2024 GOP presidential primary accused the channel of "election interference" with its coverage and demanded the government "make them pay for their illegal political activity."

Trump has frequently attacked organizations during his political career, using the phrase "fake news" for channels such as CNN over its apparent biased and partisan coverage of the former president.

"MSNBC (MSDNC) uses FREE government approved airwaves, and yet it is nothing but a 24 hour hit job on Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party for purposes of ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Brian Roberts, its Chairman and CEO, is a slimeball who has been able to get away with these constant attacks for years," Trump wrote. "It is the world's biggest political contribution to the Radical Left Democrats who, by the way, are destroying our Country. Our so-called 'government' should come down hard on them and make them pay for their illegal political activity. Much more to come, watch!"

Trump did not elaborate on what more there will be "to come" with regards to the apparent response to the news channel.

Trump and MSNBC/Comcast have been contacted for comment via email.

It is unclear what MSNBC coverage from the liberal news channel exactly prompted the angry reaction from the former president.

On Tuesday, MSNBC host and frequent critic of Trump, Joe Scarborough, hit out at Trump for his renewed calls to repeal the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as ObamaCare, describing the Republican as like a "boxer past his prime" with his policies.

In another Truth Social post, Trump wrote: "Getting much better Healthcare than Obamacare for the American people will be a priority of the Trump Administration. It is not a matter of cost, it is a matter of HEALTH. America will have one of the best Healthcare Plans anywhere in the world. Right now it has one of the WORST!

"I don't want to terminate Obamacare, I want to REPLACE IT with MUCH BETTER HEALTHCARE. Obamacare Sucks!!!

On Monday, Jen Psaki, the former White House press secretary for President Joe Biden, discussed a New York Times report about how Trump allegedly "upended a federal investigation by his own Justice Department" when he pardoned drug dealer Jonathan Braun on his final day in office while he was under federal investigation for being a loan shark.

The same day, Scarborough also accused the Republican of being "grotesque" who "only thinks America's great when Donald Trump's president"
