Is 'Doom Patrol' Getting a Season 4?

Doom Patrol reaches its Season 3 climax today and fans of the DC Comics series will want to know whether or not the show will return for Season 4.

The superhero ensemble centers on a group of super-powered individuals who all got their abilities in tragic circumstances. The show is based on the DC Comics series of the same name, and features Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Diane Guerrero, Timothy Dalton and Michelle Gomez, to name just a few.

The Season 3 finale airs on HBO Max on Thursday November 11, but will it be the last we see of the heroes we know as Doom Patrol?

Will There Be a Doom Patrol Season 4

During October's DC FanDome event, it was confirmed that the Max Original series Doom Patrol would return for a fourth season.

The announcement came alongside the new mid-season trailer, and the many other DC announcements, which included sneak peeks for The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

Cast members Joivan Wade, Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby and Michelle Gomez were recruited to make the announcement during the DC FanDome event. The video was shared on the show's official social media channels (Caution: video contains strong language).

It wasn't confirmed when Season 4 of Doom Patrol would air, but it's likely to be late 2022 or early 2023, based on the release date trends from the previous three seasons.

Doom Patrol Season 4 Storyline

There's no information available yet on what Season 4 will focus on, but it's sure to be a continuation of the events from the Season 3 finale.

The surviving members of Doom Patrol will return for Season 4. The comic book source material has plenty of untapped potential for the show to focus on in future seasons.

Who Stars in Doom Patrol?

Doom Patrol features a strong cast who each play unique, and occasionally tragic superheroes.

Diane Guerrero plays Jane, April Bowlby is shapeshifting Rita Farr, Matt Bomer is the mummified Larry Trainor, Brendan Fraser is the cyborg Cliff Steele, and Michelle Gomez joined the cast in Season 3 as Madame Rouge.

Former James Bond Timothy Dalton played The Chief from Seasons 1 to 3, but his character died in Season 3. He's made several appearances during the season after his death, but it is unknown whether he'll continue this posthumous role in Season 4.

Each new episode of Season 3 aired on Thursdays on the streaming service and the finale, Episode 10 "Amends Patrol" will air on Thursday, November 11, 2021.
