Sasha Banks and Bayley Win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at Elimination Chamber

Sasha Banks and Bayley overcame five other teams to become the first WWE Women's Tag Team Champions at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Banks and Bayley, and Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were the first two teams in the Elimination Chamber and the four women were the last ones in the extreme match. After the rest of the field were eliminated, Rose and Deville took out Bayley by ramming her into one of the pod's support beams.

Sasha was left alone to take down both competitors in the same fashion that Bayley has fought the last few weeks while Banks was dealing with a lingering injury. After kicking out of multiple pinfalls, Sasha eventually got Sonya Deville into a Bank Statement for the victory.

Sasha and Bayley, and Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose began the match, followed by the Riott Squad (Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan), IIconics, Naomi and Tamina, and then Nia Jax and Tamina.

The IIconics, both, pinned Naomi to score the first elimination. Nia Jax and Tamina hit the IIconics with double Samoan Drops to eliminate the tag team from Australia. Tamina hits her signature Splash on the Riott Squad to eliminate them.

Nia Jax charges through a pod to try and get to Bayley, which knocks her out. This leads to Tamina being ganged up by the remaining women before she gets eliminated.

The road to the Women's Tag Team Championships began before the turn of the new year when Vince McMahon announced in a pre-taped video that certain changes were coming to the WWE including the introduction of the Tag Team titles.

Monday Night RAW had qualifying matches for their participants, with The Riott Squad, Sasha/Bayley and Nia/Tamina earning their spots. The SmackDown Live teams didn't have to earn their spots.

What do you think of the first winners of the Women's Tag Team Championships? Do you think they will hold it all the way to WrestleMania.
