Elon Musk Makes Surprise Appearance at World Cup Final Amid Controversies

Elon Musk has shared a video clip of him attending the FIFA World Cup final as France and Argentina battle it out for the biggest prize in soccer.

The 51-year-old billionaire owner of Twitter has had a bumpy few months as he rides a number of controversies since taking over the social media site.

Musk posted a clip of the ceremony before the soccer final and told his 121 million followers: "At World Cup right now."

Argentina, inspired by Lionel Messi in his last World Cup game for the national side, were taking on France, who were looking to become only the second team to win back-to-back World Cups.

Musk recently caused controversy after he accused a number of journalists of doxxing when his private jet was tracked and the information was made public.

He tweeted at the time: "Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info.

"Posting locations someone traveled to on a slightly delayed basis isn't a safety problem, so is ok."

This led to him banning a number of reporters from Twitter, which has since been reversed, but his post saying that he was at the World Cup final has led to many suggest that Musk actually doxxed himself.

One tweeted: "Gonna have to ban you for reporting on your real time location."

Another added: "You should suspend yourself for revealing your location."

A third wrote: "7 day suspension, I'm afraid @elonmusk. Rules are rules."

With many pointing this out on Twitter, one person took to his social media site to put this to bed and tweeted: "To those pointing out how Elon doxxed himself... You can't doxx yourself. Sharing your own location is a free choice. Sharing someone else's is doxxing."

There were others that wanted to let Musk know that they were not jealous that he was there in person as they were watching with a better view.

One soccer fan tweeted: "Enjoy! May the best team win 🏆! Fyi I have better seats than you! in my living room. Cheers"

Others wanted to know where Musk's allegiances lay between the two teams.

One asked: "Who are you supporting @elonmusk?"

Another wanted to know: "France or Argentina? @elonmusk"
