When Will 'ELVIS' Be Streaming?

Austin Butler has transformed into the late superstar Elvis Presley for the Baz Luhrmann biopic about the King of Rock and Roll.

The movie traces the rise of Elvis from his childhood to his position as an international superstar, and looks at the darker sides of his life including drug and alcohol problems and his complicated relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, played by Tom Hanks.

ELVIS had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2022 and received a 12-minute standing ovation from the audience. Since then, the majority of critics have praised the film and in particular, marveled at Butler's performance, who beat the likes of Miles Teller, Harry Styles and Ansel Elgort for the role.

When Will ELVIS Be Streaming?

At the moment, ELVIS doesn't have an official streaming date, but judging by previous Warner Bros. pictures, it may be heading online a lot sooner than you might think.

Warner Bros. content is usually available to stream on HBO Max 45 days after its cinematic release.

This means if it is to follow in the footsteps of its two recent big picture releases, The Batman and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, ELVIS will be available to stream from Monday, August 8.

To watch ELVIS and other Warner Bros. content, you can subscribe to HBO Max now for $14.99.

Unfortunately, in the U.K., HBO Max is currently unavailable, which means the ability to stream ELVIS may take a little longer than hoped.

The highly anticipated movie will premiere in theaters on Friday, June 24, worldwide if you want to see the nearly three-hour-long biopic on the big screen.

Cinemas such as AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Regal Theatres, Odeon and Cineworld will play the film, with showtimes available on their respective websites.

The movie has the approval of the Presley family, so you won't want to miss it. Elvis' daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, called the film "nothing short of spectacular" on Instagram and has posted numerous photos of herself with Butler and the cast.

She has praised Butler's performance on many occasions, stating he had "channeled and embodied my father's heart and soul beautifully. In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY done accurately and respectfully."

Lisa Marie Presley also called for Butler to get the Best Actor Oscar at next year's awards for his performance.

Who Stars in ELVIS?

Austin Butler is an uncanny Elvis Presley in ELVIS.

Butler shot to fame as James "Wilke" Wilkerson in the series Switched at Birth in 2011. He went on to land the role of Sebastian Kydd in the Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, and Wil Ohmsford in The Shannara Chronicles.

He is also well known for starring as Tex Watson in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Oscar-winner Tom Hanks portrays Colonel Tom Parker, Presley's controversial manager.

Olivia DeJonge, who starred in The Staircase and The Society plays the role of Elvis's wife, Priscilla Presley.
