Emily Blunt Shares Heartwarming Gesture Taylor Swift Did for Her Kids

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Taylor Swift's reputation precedes her yet again as Emily Blunt reminisced about the heartfelt moment when the pop star graciously complimented her 10-year-old daughter.

"She's the nicest. She was so nice to my kids," Blunt shared on the Monday, April 29 episode of The Howard Stern Show.

She then recounted an anecdote about a moment when her "oldest kid had just cut all her hair off, this very short haircut that she was very self-conscious about." Blunt elaborated, "Taylor Swift remarked, 'God, look at you, you're just this '60s Beatnik cool kid. I love your style.'"

"I thought my child was going to faint," the Fall Guy star quipped. "It was the best thing anyone's done for my child. She's very cool."

She further praised Swift, describing her as "very cool," and expressed how acts of kindness towards her children have a profound impact, saying they make her "melt." Blunt shares daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8, with husband John Krasinski.

Stern brought up the topic of Swift because Blunt has previously expressed her admiration for the singer on multiple occasions, even disclosing her favorite song during an interview. "I'd say 'Cruel Summer' is pretty up there for me," she told to Fandango last month.

Blunt isn't alone in sharing instances of Swift's kindness towards their children. Stephen Colbert has frequently recounted a heartwarming story from the 2008 Grammys, where the "Blank Space" singer showed kindness to his daughter. Colbert vividly recalled the moment he introduced Madeline to Swift, saying, "She turns around and goes, 'Pretty girl!' and comes and puts her arms around her and goes, 'Oh, you look amazing!'" He shared this touching story on an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
