Everything Lena Dunham Publicly Apologized for in 2016 (and Also 2015 and 2014)

Lena Dunham has had a year! She kicked off 2016 by campaigning the hell out of Iowa for Hillary Clinton and ended it by infuriating both the left and the right with a thoroughly mystifying comment about wishing she'd had an abortion. Somewhere in between, she turned 30 and made a rap video titled "Sensual Pantsuit Anthem." Lena Dunham is sorry! (For the abortion comment. Not the rap video.)

"I say sorry all day," Dunham wrote in a May essay titled "My Apology Addiction," "which doesn't make sense considering I'm not a warlord, a drunk driver, or a pizza delivery guy speeding down 6th Avenue on a fixed gear bike scaring the shit out of pedestrians. I am a woman who is sometimes right, sometimes wrong but somehow always sorry."

Indeed. Anyway, here is a nostalgic look back at every public apology the Girls star issued in 2016, as well as a few oldies but goodies from 2015 and 2014, in reverse chronological order.
