Ewan McGregor Refuses TV Interview With Piers Morgan Over Women's March Criticism

Ewan McGregor pulled out of a scheduled appearance on U.K. breakfast television show Good Morning Britain Tuesday morning after discovering Piers Morgan is co-host of the program.

McGregor had been scheduled to appear on the ITV show to promote his new movie T2 Trainspotting, a sequel to the 1996 hit.

The actor tweeted he wouldn't appear alongside Morgan following the controversial former newspaper editor's comments about the worldwide women's marches that took place Saturday in protest of new U.S. President Donald Trump.

Was going on Good Morning Britain, didn't realise @piersmorgan was host. Won't go on with him after his comments about #WomensMarch

Morgan responded:

Sorry to hear that @mcgregor_ewan - you should be big enough to allow people different political opinions. You're just an actor after all.

Morgan, who has been vocal about his support of Trump, enraged millions on Twitter Saturday when he tweeted he was "planning a 'men's march' to protest at the creeping global emasculation of my gender by rabid feminists. Who's with me?"

He also branded the marches, staged in Washington, London, Paris and other cities, "vacuous."

An ITV spokesperson tells Newsweek that McGregor decided not to appear on Good Morning Britain after arriving at the show's central London studios Tuesday morning.

Representatives for McGregor did not immediately return Newsweek 's request for comment at the time of publication.
