Is Facebook Down? Comments Not Loading, Working

Some Facebook users were having a hard time getting the social media site to work Friday. Users were reporting the issues with the platform on the web and the mobile app to the website Down Detector.

Those Down Detector reports said many users were experiencing a total blackout, in addition to issues with logging in and the app as well. The map on Down Detector showed that many of the user reports were coming from Europe.

Some users were taking to Twitter to see if they were the only ones experiencing issues with the social media platform or not.

Users were reporting that they were experiencing problems with comments on the platform specifically. Some couldn't load any comments at all and others were having trouble posting comments.

One user tweeted that when they tried to post a comment they would see a message that said they can't access comments while offline, even while they were connected to wifi. Other users were experiencing similar issues with the platform.

I'm having problems with my Facebook 😕 says I am "offline" but my wifi is working. And I can't see anyone's profiles or any comments. I even uninstalled it & reinstalled

Facebook did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment on the apparent outage the platform was experiencing Friday.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
