Some Facebook users found a "service unavailable" notice when they tried to open up the social media platform Friday. The message was connected to an apparent outage impacting some users.
Hundreds of reports rolled into the website Down Detector Friday by about 10 a.m. EST saying Facebook was down and not working. Those reports listed login and a total blackout as the main issues with the platform.
Users were also tweeting about the Facebook outage.
"Earlier today, some people may have briefly experienced trouble connecting to Facebook. The issue has since been resolved; we're sorry for any inconvenience," a Facebook spokesperson told Newsweek around 12:!5 p.m. EST Friday.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
