'Farscape' Streaming: All Episodes, Plus 'Peacekeeper Wars' Coming to Amazon Prime Video This Week

Farscape will be streaming again, just in time for its 20th anniversary. The science fiction series known for its outlandish aliens will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video beginning Tuesday, March 19.

All four seasons and 88 episodes of Farscape , plus the miniseries finale, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, will stream in high definition. Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars—the two-part finale which tied up the show two years after its unexpected cancellation in 2002—has been newly remastered in HD.

According to Amazon, Farscape streaming is just the beginning for the show's 20th anniversary, with fan events, a final soundtrack release and other licensing initiatives planned for 2019, including products from Chronicle Collectibles, Toy Vault and Trevco.

"Farscape is one of my most favorite productions, and I am so honored by the 'Scapers' who continue to love it and share it with other sci-fi fans," The Jim Henson Company Chairman and Farscape Executive Producer Brian Henson said in the announcement. "Premiering the series and the beautiful HD remastered mini-series on Prime Video is a great way to celebrate the 20th anniversary with the Farscape community."

Created by Rockne S. O'Bannon and originally produced for Australian television in 1999 (later, it became the Sci-Fi Channel's first original series), Farscape became known for its unique special effects, especially puppetry and prosthetics from Jim Henson's Creature Shop, including fully puppeted characters like the massive, multi-limbed alien Pilot and Rygel, an arrogant and whinging deposed ruler known for farting helium when he gets nervous (he's basically a selfish Yoda, except he has no discipline and no one respects him).

Pilot and Rygel are joined by a motley crew of alien fugitives aboard a living ship, Moya, who must overcome their differences to escape the militant Peacekeepers. There's a single human aboard: John Crichton (Ben Browder), an Earth astronaut lost through a wormhole and looking for a way back home. He's joined by former Peacekeeper Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black), the Klingon-like Luxan warrior Ka D'Argo (Anthony Simcoe), the thief Chiana (Gigi Edley) and a blue plant priestess named Zhaan (Virginia Hey).

Together they must avoid capture (and sometimes team up with) from fanatical Peacekeepers like Captain Bialar Crais (Lani Tupu) and the half-reptilian Scorpius (Wayne Pygram), who is determined to extract the secrets of wormhole technology from Crichton's brain, even if it kills him.

Farscape will be available for streaming on Prime Video in the United States, U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries beginning Tuesday.
