Ryan Gosling Wearing Nike Endorsed Spacesuit in 'First Man'? Neil Armstrong Biopic Rumors Debunked

Ryan Gosling and the creative minds behind the upcoming Neil Armstrong biopic, First Man, caught heat over the weekend after it was revealed the movie wouldn't include the historical moment when the astronaut planted the American flag on the moon. Hundreds of people took to social media to slam the film and voice their outrage over the absent scene. Even astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who joined Armstrong on the monumental Apollo 11 mission, fired subliminal shots at the film on Sunday when he posted photos of the patriotic moment of he and Armstrong piercing the moon's surface with the standing flag, but that's not the only thing that outraged people.

Another Twitter user joined in the banter and shared a cropped photo of Gosling in his First Man spacesuit alongside photos of real astronauts. However, instead of sporting an American flag patch on his space suit, Gosling's space suit featured a Nike symbol in the photo.

The image, however, was altered. Actual images from the movie, as well as scenes in the trailer, in which Gosling and cast are seen wearing space suits, feature the American flag patch on uniform's left side shoulder.

Nike named former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick as the face of its 30th anniversary of the "Just Do It" campaign on Monday. The ad includes a close-up shot of Kaepernick's face with the inscription, "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything."

Although the ad received an outpour of support from fans, there were some people who were upset by Nike's decision to use Kaepernick in the ad.

Despite being considered one of the best players in the league, Kaepernick hasn't been signed to an NFL team since 2016 after he started kneeling during the national anthem in protest of the racial injustice.
