A video of a woman's "most embarrassing" blunder on an airplane has gone viral on TikTok.
The clip was shared by @sar_sarge and has had 5.2 million views since it was posted on March 1.
A message across the clip reads: "POV [point of view]: Most embarrassing video on your camera roll. I'll go first. Xx"
The footage begins with a woman looking at the camera, with her hand covering her mouth. It later cuts to a view of a water bottle with a retractable straw on its lid placed on a tray table in an aircraft.
A hand is shown clicking a button, which releases the straw and water squirts out of it, splashing everywhere before the video ends.
The latest post comes as air travel continues to see strong growth, after grinding to a stop during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In November 2023, global air traffic was reported to be at 99.1 percent of November 2019 (pre-pandemic) levels, according to a January report by the International Air Transport Association.

To save yourself the embarrassment of your water bottle exploding on a packed plane, be sure to open its lid first to release some of the pressure before taking a sip, as the bottles can be impacted by the cabin air pressure changes on a flight.
Passengers are not allowed to bring water or any other liquids over 3.4 ounces through security, but they can bring an empty bottle, which can be filled up on the way to boarding their flight. "Remember to place them in a reusable quart-size bag," the U.S. Transportation Security Administration advises.

The liquid restriction does not apply to formula, breast milk, toddler drinks and baby/toddler food, including puree pouches. These can be brought in quantities greater than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters, are allowed in carry-on baggage and do not need to fit within a quart-sized bag, the TSA notes.
