Following Deadly Amtrak Crash, a Train Derails Near Pittsburgh

On Thursday morning, a freight train derailed outside of Hazelwood, Pennsylvania, outside of Pittsburgh. Ten train cars came off the tracks. The cause of the derailment remains unknown.

No injuries were reported immediately following the crash. Local law enforcement arrived at the scene to investigate. A hazmat team was not brought in, as there are no hazmat concerns from the contents the trail was carrying.

This accident comes just days after a deadly Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia killed seven people.
