A foster dog has melted hearts online after a video of him jumping all over the room at night went viral on social media, and now people are begging the foster family to keep him.
In a video shared on TikTok by the dog's foster carer, who goes by the username Lucylonglegs22, the euphoric dog can be seen dancing in the living room, jumping up and down and spinning around.
The video comes with a caption that reads: "It's 12:20am. How the f*** am I supposed to rehome this!!!!" And it's accompanied by "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins.
According to data gathered by Petpedia, about a quarter of pets ending up in shelters have been abandoned by their owners. More than 6.5 million animals enter U.S. shelters every year. Of this number, approximately 3.3 million are dogs, while 3.2 million are cats. Around 25 percent of dogs in shelters are purebred.
The video, which was first shared on Thursday, July 28, has gone viral, reaching over 515,000 likes, 3,170 comments and 5,230 re-shares, and people are in love with the pup. One user, Sammymila, commented: "Your not supposed to rehome him that's his home now." And Lindsay Smith250 added: "Aw please let him stay!!!" Hannah said: "Keep him. He's soooo happy."
Another user, peach suggested: "Practice some can down activities before bed, crate training also helps!" And Hrrrm said: "He'd fit with someone who's very active lol."
Jadeyy commented: "Awww hell nah he's found home only happy dogs get zoomies." And Kezza joked: "I think she is challenging you to a dance off up ya get." Sharna Mcphillips added: "Zoomies. A happy pup! He loves being with you so cute."
Another user, Erika Brittany Shelv, explained: "Amazed how many don't understand the fostering concept.. Can't keep them all."
Nick_Daze suggested: "Walk him more... high energy dogs need lots of exercise or all their energy builds up and they have to get rid of it cuz tomorrow's a new day of"
Jessica Aksskjold told the foster carer to give the dog "to someone who works late. I get off at 11pm, a dog like that would fit perfect for my schedule. Not a dog that gets up and is hyper at 6am." Maxwell Golden added: "You rehome with night owls! Like me!"
