Fox News' Raymond Arroyo Attacks Harry Styles Over 'Gender Bending' Fashion

Harry Styles fans have mocked Fox News host Raymond Arroyo after he criticized the singer's "ridiculous" fashion choices.

Sitting in for regular host Laura Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle on Tuesday, Arroyo singled out the British pop star for not exclusively dressing in traditional menswear clothing.

The Fox News host made the remarks in a 21-second-long section he called "we want none of in 2021."

"Harry Styles please stick to Armani menswear or at least pants. The gender bending wardrobe is not edgy or artistic," he said. "You look ridiculous and you're not breaking any new ground—David Bowie did this decades before you were even conceived. And the pearls were a really bad luck."

A clip of the segment has been watched more than 800,000 times on Twitter after it was posted by one Harry Styles fan.

Styles has been praised as a flag-bearer for gender-fluid fashion since stepping away from boyband One Direction in 2016.

A cover picture of this month's edition of Vogue featured him wearing a dress, while he has also been photographed wearing a pearl necklace multiple times.

His fans—of which there are many—have largely embraced his fashion choices, and some have mocked Arroyo over his remarks.

One fan behind the "proud of harry" Twitter account, which has more than 17,000 followers, tagged Arroyo in a tweet and told him to "stop talking nonsense."

"if I, as a woman, can wear pants or suits, then a man has the right to wear a dress or skirt. do you think that if you say any stupidity then suddenly men will stop wearing dresses? clothes DO NOT have gender," she added.

A One Direction fan responded to Arroyo's comments simply by posting a gallery of pictures showing Styles donning a dress.

Another fan, Carlone Madison, responded to the clip by posting: "Literally David Bowie was iconic and look where he got. Harry is also iconic and he's 26 imagine 20 years from now where he is gonna be!"

One Styles fan account, called "Real Fans Love Harry", addressed the Fox News host directly, telling him: "your words are really hurtful and unnecessary."

"Everyone can wear what they want. Clothes have no gender. And everyone who shows it, breaks stereotypes. Harry Styles does it," the post read.

Speaking to Vogue for its December issue, Styles said the defining lines between male and female-specific clothing were "crumbling away."

"When you take away 'There's clothes for men and there's clothes for women,' once you remove any barriers, obviously you open up the arena in which you can play," he said. "I'll go in shops sometimes, and I just find myself looking at the women's clothes thinking they're amazing. It's like anything—anytime you're putting barriers up in your own life, you're just limiting yourself."

This is not the first time that Styles has been criticized over his Vogue photoshoot by conservatives.

Controversial commentator Candace Owens shared a link to online pictures of the shoot, tweeting: "It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men."

The tweet led to a huge backlash from not only Styles' dedicated fans, but actress Olivia Wilde responded to Owens, calling her "pathetic."
