Chopra, 36, shared a similar statement via her Instagram. "Taken..With all my heart and soul," she wrote. In another post she posted a series of photos of her and Jonas with their families, as well as the two of them participating in a traditional engagement ceremony in her home country of India.

"The only way to do this...with family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings," the caption read. Jonas arrived in Mumbai with his parents on Thursday for the ceremony, according to News 18.

The couple went public with their relationship in May appearing together on Memorial Day weekend at the Beauty and the Beast Live concert at the Hollywood Bowl, according to previous Newsweek reports. They also met each other's parents in June.

Engagement rumors began swirling around Jonas and Chopra in July when the actress suddenly quit the production of upcoming Indian action movie, Bharat. The film's director tweeted a statement in July in support of Chopra leaving the film.

Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life 😊😉😍
