The Game of Thrones prequel will begin filming in October, the Belfast Telegraph reported on Sunday.

Production on the spinoff will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the Paint Hall studios in Belfast's Titanic Quarter, according to the local newspaper. This is good news for the city as it, Krypton (Syfy's Superman prequel TV series) and an upcoming Star Wars spin-off mean plenty of TV and film industry jobs.

The prequel was given a pilot order in June. George R. R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones is based, confirmed the news at the time with a blog post. His "vote" is to name the series The Long Night—it "says it all," he said—but he didn't think it would stick. He added that he expected HBO to include Game of Thrones "somewhere" in the title.

He stressed the series is not a sequel. "All of the successor shows we've been developing have been prequels," he wrote, adding, "This one really puts the PRE in prequel." The spin-off will take place 10,000 years before the original series and will not include any Game of Thrones actors or characters.

Martin also wrote that "the accolades [for this prequel] should go to Jane [Goldman,]" who wrote the pilot script. She also wrote and co-produced Kingsman: The Golden Circle and wrote the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid script. "She has been an absolute thrill to work with," he continued. "My god, what a talent."

Game of Thrones will return to HBO for an eighth and final season of six episodes. It follows noble families fighting for the Iron Throne. Its ruler will have control of all of Westeros. Fans will have to wait until 2019 to see who will end up on the Throne by the end of the series.
