Who is ready to return to Stars Hollow? Netflix's revival of Gilmore Girls is due to launch this fall and it now has an official title, as revealed by Lorelai Gilmore herself. Drum roll. The four-part event series will be called Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. (It was filmed under the working title Gilmore Girls: Seasons ).
Actor Lauren Graham made the announcement Thursday in a surprise appearance on Ellen. Watch below:
The Gilmore Girls revival, following on from the hit TV series that concluded in 2007, will consist of four 90-minute episodes, each spanning one season of the calendar year. The super-sized instalments will be titled: "Winter," "Spring," "Summer" and "Fall."
"We're almost done," Graham told Ellen DeGeneres when asked where they are in the shooting process.
Following Graham's announcement, Netflix released a poster to mark the show's return on its Twitter page—aptly incorporating a steaming hot cup of Lorelai's favorite beverage.

Graham and co-star Alexis Bledel reprise their roles as fast-talking mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in the mini-series. Supporting actors Scott Patterson, Keiko Agena, Kelly Bishop, Yanic Truesdale and Liza Weil, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia and Czuchry will all return.
In April, after months of back-and-forth, Melissa McCarthy, who played chef Sookie St. James in the series before becoming one of Hollywood's leading comedy stars, confirmed she filmed a short cameo. (Incidentally, she also made her announcement on Ellen .)
McCarthy's return followed an earlier claim in February that she hadn't been asked back. Executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino said the in-demand actor's agents couldn't align her calendar with the show's filming schedule.
