Glitch in the Matrix' Found After People Spot 'CGI Water' Coming Out of Faucet

A video of a liquid draining away looks so surreal it's been dubbed a "glitch in the matrix," while others reckoned it looked like CGI water.

A Redditor shared the mesmerizing sight, which shows a pipe emptying into a vat below.

Rather than pouring out as water would, the translucent material appears almost viscous and seemingly defies gravity.

Thund3rbolt shared the clip on Thursday, and captioned it: "Draining Glyphosate into a container looks like a glitch in the Matrix with video."

While the location remains unknown, the camera pans up a vat with an American flag on the side, suggesting it's somewhere in the U.S.

The substance, glyphosate, is a herbicide and is commonly used as a weed killer across America.

Since being shared the video has received more than 100,000 upvotes, along with thousands of comments.

Numerous other people agreed the video reminded them of video game graphics, while others claimed it simply made them feel "uncomfortable" to watch.

The comparison to the 1999 film, starring Keanu Reeves, references the simulation humans live in, which produces glitches when there's a malfunction in the code.

Explaining more about the material, The National Pesticide Information Center said: "Glyphosate is an herbicide. It is applied to the leaves of plants to kill both broadleaf plants and grasses. The sodium salt form of glyphosate is used to regulate plant growth and ripen specific crops.

"Glyphosate was first registered for use in the U.S. in 1974. Glyphosate is one of the most widely used herbicides in the United States. People apply it in agriculture and forestry, on lawns and gardens, and for weeds in industrial areas. Some products containing glyphosate control aquatic plants.

"Glyphosate comes in many forms, including an acid and several salts. These can be either solids or an amber-colored liquid. There are over 750 products containing glyphosate for sale in the United States."
