GOP Strategist Calls Ocasio-Cortez 'The Little Girl' on Fox Business Network

Republican campaign consultant Ed Rollins called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) "the little girl" during an appearance on Fox Business Network yesterday.

During a segment on Lou Dobbs Tonight on Friday, the pro-Trump Great America PAC chairman made the remark and rebuked Ocasio-Cortez's proposal to increase taxes for the rich as well as her ambitious plan to fight climate change.

Rollins also slammed freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) for vowing to take down President Donald Trump and "impeach the motherf***er," saying that Democratic women are making a mistake by letting Tlaib "out front with her mouth."

Following the comments, Ocasio-Cortez fired back at Rollins on Twitter a day later. "GOP loves to insult my intelligence, yet offers *this* as their best + most seasoned opposition to my policy proposals," she tweeted, alongside a clip of Rollins' Fox Business Network appearance. "If anything, this dude is a walking argument to tax misogyny at 100%. Republicans rob everyone the opportunity of real policy debate by resorting to this."

Earlier today, the freshman Democrat defended her fellow freshman colleague after Tlaib told a crowd "we're gonna go in there and impeach he motherf***er"—referring to Trump—at a MoveOn.org event on Thursday night.

Following her profanity-laced remark, Republicans quickly moved to condemn Tlaib, including the president, who declared the Michigan Democrat "dishonored herself" and "her family" by being "highly disrespectful to the United States of America" to reporters in the Rose Garden.

"Republican hypocrisy at its finest: saying that Trump admitting to sexual assault on tape is just 'locker room talk,' but scandalizing themselves into faux-outrage when my sis says a curse word in a bar," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted this morning. "GOP lost entitlement to policing women's behavior a long time ago. Next."

Commenting on the incident, Democrat David Cicilline told Newsweek that he doesn't "use that kind of language" but pointed out that "the reality is, there are people who feel very strongly about this administration and the way this president has undermined core American values and consider him to be a real threat to things that we care about in this country."
