Gotham Knights: How to Play Co-Op

Gotham Knights is chock full of cases, criminals and collectibles for players to explore, fight and gather. While you can take on all that chaos on your own, Gotham Knights also comes equipped with a fully fleshed-out cooperative system that lets you team up with your friends or a random player across the internet.

If you're looking to team up with someone and play Gotham Knights in co-op, then you don't have to jump through many hoops to get started. Before you start playing with others, though, make sure you know how to switch your character, so you're playing as the hero you want to be.

First, you'll need to play through the game until you complete Subcase 1.2 – The Langstrom Drive. Upon completing this mission, you'll return to the Belfry and then the game will unlock cooperative play. At this point, you can begin playing the game with others.

To get started, you'll need to press the pause button on your controller (or ESC on PC). Then, navigate down to the Multiplayer options and select Quick Match to queue up with a random player. You'll also see a Heroic Assault option, though that will be locked at the start, as you haven't progressed far enough to access it.

If you don't want to play with randoms, then you'll need to change your privacy settings. To do this, press left on the D-Pad if you're playing on PlayStation or Xbox, and then select from one of the four options available in the wheel.

You can play with the Public via the SOS option, or change it to Friends, Invite Only and Friends of Friends. If you want to pair up specifically with a friend, head back to the Pause Menu and then choose Social and select your friend's name from the list.

Before you go out into Gotham City, though, you'll want to check out Newsweek's guide on how to fast travel, so you can get around the city more easily. You can also check out a guide on how to unlock new suits, which will help you level up your heroes and become stronger, so you can take on more criminal threats in the city.
