The Grammy Awards 2020 will air this weekend, but who won at the Grammy Awards last year? Find out below who won major awards including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist at the 61st Grammy Awards in 2019.

The Grammy Awards 2020 will be aired live on CBS on January 26, 2020, at 8 p.m. ET. Alicia Keys will host and Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Jonas Brothers, Aerosmith, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Camila Cabello and H.E.R. will perform.

Additionally, John Legend, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch, YG and Kirk Franklin will perform a tribute to the late Grammy-nominated Nipsey Hussle.

Record of the Year 2019

"This Is America" by Childish Gambino won Record of the Year, beating the following nominees:

  • "I Like It" by Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin
  • "The Joke" by Brandi Carlile
  • "God's Plan" by Drake
  • "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
  • "All The Stars" by Kendrick Lamar and SZA
  • "Rockstar" by Post Malone featuring 21 Savage
  • "The Middle" by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey

Post Malone has been nominated again for Record of the Year, for "Sunflower" with Swae Lee.

Album of the Year 2019

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves won Album of the Year, beating out the following nominees:

  • Invasion of Privacy by Cardi B
  • By the Way, I Forgive You by Brandi Carlile
  • Scorpion by Drake
  • H.E.R. by H.E.R.
  • Beerbongs and Bentleys by Post Malone
  • Dirty Computer by Janelle Monáe
  • Black Panther: The Album

H.E.R. has also been nominated for Album of the Year 2020, for the I Used to Know Her album.

Song of the Year 2019

"This Is America" by Childish Gambino won Song of the Year, which is an award for songwriters, beating the following nominees:

  • "The Joke" by Brandi Carlile
  • "God's Plan" by Drake
  • "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
  • "All The Stars" by Kendrick Lamar and SZA
  • "The Middle" by Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey

Lady Gaga has been nominated for song of the year again, for "Always Remember Us This Way," which, like "Shallow," is from the A Star is Born movie.

Best New Artist 2019

Dua Lipa won Best New Artist in 2019, and was nominated alongside the following artists:

  • Chloe X Halle
  • Luke Combs
  • Greta Van Fleet
  • H.E.R.
  • Margo Price
  • Bebe Rexha
  • Jorja Smith

The nominees for Best New Artist this year are Black Pumas, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Rosalia, Tank and the Bangas, Yola and Maggie Rogers.

Best Pop Solo Performance 2019

Lady Gaga won Best Pop Solo Performance in 2019 for her performance of "Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin'?)", and the following performances were nominated:

  • "God Is A Woman" by Ariana Grande

Best Traditional R&B Performance 2019

The Best Traditional R&B Performance award was tied between Leon Bridges for "Bet Ain't Worth The Hand" and PJ Morton for "How Deep Is Your Love" featuring Yebba. Fellow nominees were:

  • "Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight" by Bettye Lavette
  • "Honest" by Major.
  • "Made For Love" by Charlie Wilson featuring Lalah Hathaway

PJ Morton is nominated again this year for his performance of "Built for Love" featuring Jazmine Sullivan.

Best R&B Song 2019

"Boo'd Up" by Ella Mai won the Best R&B award which is a songwriting award, and was nominated alongside:

  • "Come Through And Chill" by Miguel featuring J. Cole and Salaam Remi
  • "Feels Like Summer" by Childish Gambino
  • "Focus" by H.E.R.
  • "Long As I Live" by Toni Braxton

Everything Is Love by The Carters won Best Urban Contemporary Album, and was nominated with:

Best R&B Album 2019

H.E.R. won the award for Best R&B Album for her self-titled album, H.E.R. Other albums nominated were:

There was a tie for Best Rap Performance in 2019, so Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Future and James Blake were awarded for "King's Dead," and Anderson .paak was awarded for" Bubblin". The performances were nominated alongside the following:

  • "Nice For What" by Drake
  • "Sicko Mode" by Travis Scott, Drake, (Big Hawk) and Swae Lee

Cardi B has been nominated again for "Clout," a song by Offset on which she features.
