Cabinet of Curiosities is not being released all at once as is usually the case for Netflix. It is instead coming out in stages. Two episodes a day will be released from Tuesday, October 25 to Friday, October 28, and each tale promises to be more terrifying than the last.

Vincenzo Natali, who helmed Graveyard Rats, told Newsweek how the show was specially curated by del Toro with the director approaching the filmmakers he wanted to work with and offering them the choice of stories he had selected specially for the season.

"I really liked the slow rollout, I think if they dropped them all at once that would be a little bit disappointing because there's just an element of anticipation that comes with two episodes every night," Natali told Newsweek.

"But speaking from the perspective of working on an anthology, I've done it a number of times, I did a film called Paris Je t'aime a few years ago, and the feeling that you get from it is a little bit like being in a collective.

"It's almost like being in film school because you're around your peers and they're all working on their episode, there is a very friendly kind of competition that comes out of it, but also it's a really, really great energy

"By the way, I've not seen any of the other episodes and I'm dying to see them, I've heard great things about all of them. I love it, I love making an anthology and I really love watching it."
