How Gwen Stefani Just Subtly Paid Tribute to Blake Shelton As They Cozied Up on the Red Carpet

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani enjoyed a classic night out in Los Angeles by cozying up together on the red carpet.

The country singer, 47, and the No Doubt frontwoman, 54, hit up the premiere of The Fall Guy on Tuesday, April 30, at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The pair, who tied the knot in 2022, were all smiles for the camera as they posed with their arms around each other. Their red carpet fits perfectly expressed their individual senses of style: Shelton wore a black blazer over dark denim which he paired with brown, crocodile-esque boots — perfect for the homegrown country star — while Stefani rocked a brown and green plaid matching set, paying tribute to her edgy ska roots with patterned black fishnets.

The "Hollaback Girl" artist gave several sweet nods to her husband with her standout look: first with a jewel-encrusted, double-layered necklace that spelled out their last names, as well as her fringed black boots that gave off a country vibe.

The necklace, especially, is a statement piece — and one seemingly favored by Stefani, who has worn the jewelry on The Voice and in multiple social media selfies with Shelton.

The duo's red carpet appearance comes several weeks after Stefani reunited with No Doubt for the band's highly-publicized set at Coachella, their first live performance in nearly a decade.

While No Doubt played all of their biggest hits in the California desert — including "Just a Girl," "Spiderwebs," "Hella Good," "It's My Life," "Hey Baby" and more — Stefani made just as many headlines while showing off her and Shelton's quiet life at home in Oklahoma after heading back to their ranch after the festival.

"I'm out here gardening, guys," the "Rich Girl" singer — who shares three sons with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale — shared via Instagram at the time, joking: "I just planted, with the Sheltonator, we just planted a bunch of dahlias, so stay tuned, it's going to be epic and it's going to be the Coachella of gardening."

Shelton, for his part, has discussed the importance of his life at home with Stefani and her sons.

"They've taught me something about myself that I never knew: I'm more than just a country singer or a goofy guy. I'm someone they actually lean on, and that's not a responsibility that I ever had and not something that I ever considered even being into," the "God's Country" singer told People in 2022 about his relationship with his stepsons.
