Gwen Stefani Reveals Cute Nickname She Uses for Blake Shelton

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Gwen Stefani recently posted a video featuring herself and her husband, Blake Shelton, cruising in their car. In the clip, you catch her affectionately addressing him as "Shelton."

In an Instagram story shared, Stefani treats her followers to a glimpse of her car ride with Shelton. Coldplay's "Clocks" was playing in the car as the "Sweet Escape" singer showed off a bouquet of flowers resting on her lap. As she playfully calls Shelton's name, the camera captures his comical expression as he lowers his glasses to look at the camera.

The day before this car ride clip, the duo surprised their fans by making an unexpected appearance at the country singer's grand opening of his new bar, Ole Red, in Las Vegas. This event unfolded just after Stefani's stellar performance with No Doubt at Coachella on Saturday, April 13.

"Gwen Stefani, everybody!" Blake shouted to the crowd of 500, according to People. "I don't know if you all heard it but there's a thing called Coachella last weekend. Gwen was over at Coachella Saturday, flew to Nashville for a wedding, and she's been a trouper and now she wanted to be here tonight."

During the performance at Ole Red, the pair sang their duets "Happy Anywhere" and "Nobody But You."

Shelton and Stefani famously met as they were coaches on the singing competition show The Voice in 2014, and went on to get married in 2021.

However, it was recently revealed that their communication was sparse during her first season as a coach on the show. "You would see her out at the red chairs if there was a production meeting or whatever and I feel like I got to know Pharrell [Williams] more that year than I did Gwen," Shelton told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, April 17. "It wasn't until the season she came back, the next one, that the pieces were falling together."
