Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reveals She's About to Undergo Major Changes

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was recently released from prison after her conviction in her mother's murder, revealed that she will be undergoing cosmetic surgery.

She disclosed her decision to undergo rhinoplasty, aiming to enhance the shape and aesthetic of her nose. "I'm going through a personal transformation journey currently and that includes a physical one, too," she shared with People on Friday, April 5. "Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the whole thing this summer on Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up."

The "personal transformation" relates to the recent announcement of her separation from her husband, Ryan Anderson, after one year of marriage.

Blanchard's close friend, Nadiya Vizier, also told to the outlet that she has long desired to undergo a rhinoplasty. "She said she's a bit nervous, but she's happy it's going to be done," she shared. "The main thing is that she wanted a more feminine looking nose. She just wants to fix it up and give it a more feminine look."

Vizier continued: "My main message is to just, people need to let her live, let her experience, if they know that she's doing something good or wrong, let her experience that. Let her learn from it. I feel like in a way, people are still trying to control her."

After news broke of her separation from Anderson, Blanchard has been seen spending time with her former fiancé, Ken Urker, whom she was engaged to in 2018 during her time in prison. They connected after Urker reached out to her with letters, but their engagement was called off in 2019. They have also been seen getting matching tattoos.

The reunion with her former fiancé doesn't come as much of a shock. In Blanchard's 2024 Lifetime docuseries, The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, she disclosed that she maintained contact with Urker in the weeks preceding her 2022 wedding to Anderson. She also admitted to harboring lingering feelings for him.
