José Mourinho will turn to Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane if he cannot secure the signing of Antoine Griezmann for Manchester United, according to reports.

Kane, 23, is the joint-top scorer in the English Premier League through 26 games with 17, ensuring Tottenham is the closest challenger to runaway leader Chelsea.

He appears on course for a third straight season of more than 20 league goals, which has apparently alerted Mourinho.

The United manager is expected to complete a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Griezmann but if that falls through, Kane is seen as the next target, according to the Manchester Evening News.

A deal could even involve Luke Shaw moving south to White Hart Lane, as the left back has fallen out of favor this season under Mourinho.
