Hearts Melt as Pet Owner Reveals Sweet Reason Behind His Workout Routine

A cat owner has delighted the internet after revealing the reason behind his specific workout routine, in a clip that has gone viral on social media.

In the post shared on TikTok on Saturday, under the username Buff_catdad, he can be seen holding a pair of weights as he keeps his arms up and close to his chest as if he were holding something in them, explaining that he does this for a very specific reason.

A caption he posted alongside the video says: "Why are you doing that?" as he lifts the weights, followed by: "Because she's a chonky baby," as the video switches to him holding his chubby cat in his arms, which he trained on purpose, to be able to hold her up.

He also added: "I saw the video of the guy doing this with his kid and thought it'd be funny to do my own version. Tiger is a chonk."

The poster told Newsweek: "I got Tiger when she was 3 months old from a shelter here in Houston, Texas. Today she is 5.5. Tiger is a tabby, and has always been a very social cat. When friends or family come to visit, she doesn't run like most cats. Instead, she walks up to them and demands they pet her by standing by their leg and meowing at them.

"She loves to cuddle, loves making biscuits, and is a very vocal and loving cat. She is very clingy and follows me everywhere. She sits with me on my desk while I work or play video games."

According to Web MD, most domestic cats are supposed to weigh about 10 pounds, although their specific weight can vary with breed. In fact, while smaller cats such as the Siamese cat can weigh as little as 5 pounds and still be healthy, bigger cats like the Maine Coon can be 25 pounds and be healthy too.
