A couple of New Jersey men have been arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses and accused of running a heroin drug operation out of a barber shop.

After an investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies for seven months, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey said Ruben Stouth, 53, and Robert Alicea, 48, have been arrested and charged with multiple narcotic and weapons offenses, according to reports.

Alicea allegedly lived in a home attached to the Dominican Salon & Barber Shop, located 215 Spring Street, in Trenton, New Jersey, which authorities say was a working heroin and production and packaging facility. Police officers allegedly found inside the barbershop "40 bricks of heroin, five grams of raw heroin, a loaded .38 special revolver, $1,239 in cash, 176 tramadol pills, drug ledgers and various items used for packaging heroin, including stamps, stamp pads, boxes of empty glassine bags, rubber bands and tape," according to the Trenton newspaper The Trentonian.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced the arrests and said that Stouth was the target of the seven-month investigation and that detectives in the case watched him make several drug deals. Prosecutors allege that Stouth was selling drugs on a street in Trenton when police approached him, and they arrested him after a chase on foot.

Officers then searched Stouth's home and allegedly found a "loaded Colt .45 handgun, a metal drug press used to 're-rock' narcotics and paperwork in his name," and inside the trunk of a BMW allegedly belonging to Stouth were "two bundles of suspected heroin in the trunk" and "nine-and-a-half OxyContin pills and $883 in cash," nj.com reported.
