Hilarious Reason Video of Dad Carrying Newborn Doesn't Go To Plan

A new mom has told Newsweek of the hilarious moment her "hot dad walk" video went wrong.

Sierra Soole, 25, said that when she had their first baby, Lola, two months ago, she wanted to replicate the viral TikTok trend of new moms filming their husbands carrying their firstborn out from the hospital, but it didn't go smoothly for her.

The viral post, shared on Monday under the username @sierraxnoel, shows Soole's 27-year-old husband Logan with their baby, while she is being pushed in a wheelchair behind him, filming. But dad takes a wrong turn, and his wife ends up filming an empty hallway instead, because the nurse doesn't stop.

Soole, from Colorado, said: "I think the nurse was trying to get us out of there quickly and when he turned the wrong way, she just kept going. He shortly after realized [that] he went the wrong way after I told her to get him."

A caption shared along with the clip explains: "Couldn't do the 'hot dad walk' trend with my husband because he walked out the wrong way and the nurse who was pushing my wheelchair just let him and kept pushing me."

According to Forbes the average cost of giving birth in America in 2024 is around $18,865, including all expenses related to pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care. However, the price can go as high as $26,280 if a C-section is needed.

If you don't have insurance and can't afford to pay the bill, you can set up a payment plan if the hospital allows it. You can also check if you qualify for a discounted rate, or government health insurance.

"There may also be state-specific grants or financial assistance programs. A representative from your hospital's billing department can likely provide some options if you need financial aid after childbirth," Forbes added.

One user, Gabs, commented: "He was confident with that turn though." Marissa said: "I know he's looking ahead smiling too."

Kylie wrote: "The fact she just let him go and didn't even stop pushing you." And r.marisol_ added: "Mine walked away so fast with our daughter I couldn't even record."
