Fans of the iconic Harry Potter franchise have been waiting years for a game like Hogwarts Legacy to release. The game, which was developed by Avalanche Software, will finally give players the chance to step into Hogwarts as their very own wizard. Those looking forward to this upcoming role-playing game will no doubt want to know when to expect its release date to arrive.
The game was originally slated for release back in 2021. However, due to a delay, Hogwarts Legacy was pushed into 2022. Then, later down the line, the upcoming wizarding role-playing game was pushed into 2023. Hogwarts Legacy will now release on February 10, 2023.
The game has received a lot of hype and flack, depending on which side you fall on. Many are concerned about J.K. Rowling's involvement in the title, while others are worried that she isn't involved enough. Even then, many were happy to hear that the game was delayed, as they didn't want to see it suffering from many of the same issues other big-title releases like Cyberpunk 2077 suffered from.
Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s and will allow players to step into the Harry Potter universe as their own specially-created wizard. Then, they'll be able to take part in a brand-new story within the franchise that isn't based on anything J.K. Rowling has done before. However, the developers did note on the game's website that J.K. Rowling's team collaborated with them to ensure that Hogwarts Legacy adheres to the world that Rowling created years ago.
When Hogwarts Legacy releases in February next year, players will be able to take advantage of a number of bonuses and goodies in the game's preorder bundles. There are several preorder options to choose from, so players looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy should check those out as soon as they have a moment.
In Hogwarts Legacy, players will be able to be sorted into their own houses and explore Hogwarts completely. The game will feature several iconic parts of the Harry Potter universe, and you'll be able to choose between both a good and evil path.
Hogwarts Legacy will be available on all major consoles and platforms, including the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, and on Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch version of the game does not currently have a listed release date, so it is expected to arrive sometime after the initial release.
