Horror as Dog Owner Discovers Source of 'Little Yellow Dots' on Couch

The potential pitfalls of letting your dog on the couch have been laid bare in a hilarious video posted to TikTok by one concerned pet owner.

Some dog owners love nothing more than curling up on the couch with their four-legged friend. A survey of 2,000 American dog-owners conducted by OnePoll on behalf of JustFoodForDogs found that 46 percent of respondents admitted to letting their pup sit up on the couch.

However, a fair few might be having second thoughts about it, after watching the video posted to TikTok on March 4 by a dog owner writing under the handle @littlepicklepup. Conversely, those already opposed to the idea of dogs on couches may be left feeling rather smug after viewing the footage.

In a caption accompanying the clip, the owner of a cute dog by the name of Pickle wrote that they had been "wondering why there's little yellow dogs on the side of the couch." The video then cuts to the aforementioned Pickle, sitting on the couch with his two front legs up on the arm and hinds legs back on the seat cushion. The camera zooms in slightly to reveal the source of the yellow marks, and it's not good news.

While dogs have been known to pee around the house from time to time, Pickle's actions took this particular subgenre of canine misdemeanors in a slightly different but undeniably hilarious direction.

Though Pickle's owner appeared to harbor no ill will towards the pet, writing "oops" next to the video of him leaving his mark, the clip sparked lively discussion on TikTok where it has already been watched more than 8.2 million times.

One user wrote: "This is why I feel uncomfortable at people's houses who feel like animals belong on beds, couches, tables, countertops. Absolutely not."

A second commented, "errrŕgh dogs on furniture is just a no!" while a third posted: "this is filthy." A fourth wrote: "Whenever I think I'm about to adopt a dog, I see things like this and reconsider."

Elsewhere, one TikTok user commented, "Boy dogs gross me out," while another added: "a cat would never do that."

Not everyone was quite as repulsed, though. "Grow up guys," one of Pickle's defenders posted, adding that there are likely guys out there with questionable personal hygiene who have probably come into contact with even worse and then "touched the door knob in every building you've ever touched."

For one viewer, the video was even a source of some personal sadness. "My old senior dog Romeo left his dinky donk marks on the top of the stairs where he used to lay and as horrible as it sounds, it was sad when we got the carpet replaced after he passed away," they wrote.

Despite the variety of emotions on display, some were able to see the funny side in it all. "Spat my coffee out! Hilarious," one such user commented, with another adding: "such a good boy."

Though Pickle's couch-based antics may have stirred up debate, it doesn't look like he is getting banished from the couch any time soon, with his owner posting a follow-up clip showing him living his best life on those extra-comfy cushions, yellow dots and all.
