How to Get Mew in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go is home to a variety of Pokémon, including both legendary and mythical varieties. In fact, you're able to capture a nearly complete Pokédex for some of the in-game regions, with Kanto included. Those Pokémon were initially included in the first generation of games, including the adorable pink Mew.

Mew is one of the rarest Pokémon in all of the series, especially within Pokémon Go. It's the first mythical Pokémon to be added to the mobile game, and it can be very difficult to obtain with that in mind. You can't go about getting Mew through any regular means. Instead, there's a list of steps you need to undergo first if you want to make this Pokémon yours.

Those steps include completing Special Research Tasks, spinning Pokéstops, hatching eggs, leveling up and earning a bunch of EXP and Stardust. It's time consuming and more than a little frustrating, but it can certainly be done. If you want Mew that badly, consider it a series of must-have training steps that anyone in the world of Pokémon might have to endure.

From start to finish, here are all the steps you need to take to capture Mew in Pokémon Go.
