Sunday's second presidential election debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton was nothing short of popcorn television. After a weekend of explosive threats of physical violence—including audio of Trump saying he wanted to grab you-know-what, referring to female genitalia surfacing and actor Robert De Niro declaring he wanted to punch the would-be prez—the smackdown continued, albeit a verbal one this time, as high-profile names weighed in with their scathing hot-takes on round two of Trump v Clinton.

The second televised debate between the candidates had all the drama of an episode of The Real Housewives as they failed to shake hands before the tit-for-tat session ensued, Trump threatened to prosecute Clinton over her leaked emails, and, yes, Trump did bring out a slew of women who have previously accused Clinton's husband, former president Bill Clinton, of being unfaithful in an impromptu press conference.

See some of the celebrity reaction to what is being dubbed the most vicious debate in election history below:

Chelsea Handler and more on Trump dismissing his controversial "grab them by the p***y" comments as "locker room talk":

Locker room talk? You're not on a team. #Debates

— Chelsea Handler (@chelseahandler) October 10, 2016

Sexual assault IS important stuff! If that is locker room talk then it should never happen.

— Tracee Ellis Ross (@TraceeEllisRoss) October 10, 2016

When Trump says it's just "locker room talk," he's defending the very culture that normalizes sexual assaults on women.

Pop star Katy Perry was enraged by the heatedness of the debate:

RT IF YOU ARE YELLING AT THE TV RIGHT NOW. #debates

— KATY PERRY (@katyperry) October 10, 2016

Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones has some ideas about where Trump gets his information:

It sound like he gets all his info from Wikipedia! Like he is so fucking uninformed it's embarrassing!! This is our fault! FUCKING VOTE!!

— Leslie Jones 🦋 (@Lesdoggg) October 10, 2016

It looks like J.K. Rowling won't be inviting Trump to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child any time soon:

Trump says 'just words, folks.' It's his accusation and his defence. Words don't matter. Facts don't matter. If they don't, we're all lost.

— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) October 10, 2016

Trump nemesis Rosie O'Donnell pulled up Larry King on his past conversations with the candidate:

- remember u and donald discussing if i was fuckable - on your show larry king? 2007 ? i do

— ROSIE (@Rosie) October 10, 2016

Actor Kat Dennings summed up pretty much most of the nation's feelings:

I already feel gross! #debatenight

— Kat Dennings (@OfficialKat) October 10, 2016

The lack of handshake didn't go unnoticed:

You wouldn't shake that hand either.

— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) October 10, 2016

Trump leering behind Clinton was uncomfortable viewing:

Look at this behavior. This is the type of thing women try to avoid on the street. This sets off warning bells for any woman on their own. https://t.co/L4guHpFvaV

— Anika Noni Rose (@AnikaNoniRose) October 10, 2016

Moderator Anderson Cooper was praised for holding Trump to task about his comments to Billy Bush:

ZINGO! @andersoncooper keeping real talk the top priority. "That is sexual assualt". Trump responds about how horrible ISIS is. #debates

— Kristen Bell (@IMKristenBell) October 10, 2016

"You bragged about sexually assaulting women. Do you understand that?" 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏻@andersoncooper

— Mia Farrow (@MiaFarrow) October 10, 2016

Author Stephen King offered this after 90 minutes of back-and-forth between the candidates:

Trump is up past his bedtime.

— Stephen King (@StephenKing) October 10, 2016

And this offer from Jerry Springer sounds like a great idea to us:

While I may not be able to moderate a debate, sounds like Mike Pence and Donald Trump might need to come on my show to talk things out.

— Jerry Springer (@jerryspringer) October 10, 2016

Now, if the ugliness of Sunday's events has made you a little depressed this Monday morning, rewatch Alec Baldwin's spot-on impersonation of Trump on Saturday Night Live:
