Before singer Justin Bieber made model Hailey Baldwin his fiancée, he needed to find the perfect engagement ring.

Bieber, 24, proposed to Baldwin, 21, Saturday while dining at a restaurant during their vacation at Baker's Bay on Great Guana Cay in the Bahamas. The pair waited until Wednesday to make their engagement Instagram official. Jack Solow, of Solow & Co., designed the ring Bieber popped the question with. The "Sorry" singer's manager, Scooter Braun, referred him to Solow.

"It was about the diamond," Solow told E! News Thursday. "I think he knew very well what Hailey wanted in a ring, but he wanted it very much to be about a very special diamond. He left it in my hands to try and select the most beautiful diamond for someone like Hailey."

Bieber thanked Solow via Twitter, which the designer described on Instagram as "a spectacular design collab." In honor of the occasion, Solow donated $5,000 to Baldwin's preferred charity, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Fund.

Solow declined to reveal the ring's exact amount to Newsweek, but it's estimated to have cost between $150,000 to 200,000, according to Brilliant Earth. Kathryn Money, VP, Strategy and Merchandising at Brilliant Earth, said the oval-shaped diamond is a "trending" style. She claimed its "grown in popularity over four times faster than round stones," with celebrities like Blake Lively and Sophie Turner sporting similar styles.

Experts additionally informed Money the ring could cost somewhere around $250,000 or higher.

Bieber and Baldwin's quick engagement comes after singer Ariana Grande and Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson announced their plans to marry. Unlike Grande and Davidson, Bieber and Baldwin have an extensive history.

The duo had an awkward first meeting in 2009 after the model's father—actor Stephen Baldwin—introduced them, but they later developed a close friendship. The began dating in late 2015 before calling it quits in early 2016. After their breakup, Baldwin told The Times "it brought both of us to the realization that we just work much better as friends."

Bieber and Baldwin rekindled their romance once again in May. It followed the "What Do You Mean" crooner's brief reconnection with on-and-off-again romance with Selena Gomez, which ended in March.

"My heart is completely and fully yours and I will always put you first," Bieber wrote Wednesday via Instagram. "You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn't want to spend it with anybody else. You make me so much better and we compliment each other so well!! Can't wait for the best season of life yet! It's funny because now with you everything seems to make sense!"

Baldwin commented on her engagement via Twitter. "Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with," she tweeted Monday. "No words could ever express my gratitude."
