Rose Byrne's journey of self-discovery in 1980s San Diego is coming to an end on Apple TV+, but it's been confirmed she and Physical will be back for another season.
The Australian actress plays Sheila Rubin, a housewife who escapes her humdrum life by discovering the rising trend of aerobics and health culture. Rory Scovel co-stars as her husband Danny, while Geoffrey Arend, Paul Sparks and Della Saba also appear.
Now it's been confirmed that Byrne and her character Sheila will be back for more episodes, let's take a look at how season 1 could end, setting up the second season.
What will happen in the Physical finale?
The penultimate episode of Physical, "Let's Face the Facts," ends with Sheila revealing to her husband how she believes they can win him the state assembly election.
Though she tried to quit aerobics, it seems Sheila is going all-in on the venture and hopes it will help Danny succeed too.
The finale, titled "Let's Get Together" will open with the final stages of the election run, and the results will be revealed later in the episode. Sheila receives an intriguing proposition that could enhance her burgeoning aerobic instructor career, turning it into her own empire. Meanwhile, Bunny's finances and Tyler's health come to a head.
Physical Season 2 on Apple TV+
The streaming service confirmed that the highly-rated comedy-drama will return for a second season, and Apple TV+ director of domestic programming Michelle Lee couldn't be happier.
In a statement she said: "We couldn't be more proud to showcase Annie Weisman's singular take on this darkly funny, heartbreaking and bold story.
"And then we got to watch Rose Byrne inhabit this incredible, multi-layered character, giving us an unforgettable tour de force performance. We have been thrilled to see audiences around the world fall in love and feel seen by this show and we can't wait for everyone to experience the next chapter in Sheila's journey towards personal empowerment."
Weisman created, wrote and executive produced the series and also serves as the showrunner. As well as starring in the show, Byrne also serves as an executive producer.
How to watch Physical online?
Physical is exclusively available to watch on Apple TV+ alongside other Apple Originals such as Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, See and Mythic Quest.

There's no news of when season 2 will be released as of yet but all of Physical Season 1 is available to watch on Apple TV+ now.
