Will There Be Another Season of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'?

I Know What You Did Last Summer Season 1 came to an end on November 12, with the release of its eighth episode "Your Next Life Could Be So Much Happier".

Amazon Prime Video's adaptation of the novel of the same name by Sara Goodman, and the 1997 film, follows a group of teens who are being stalked by a killer a year after covering up a car accident that led to a person's death.

The modern take on the story is led by Madison Iseman, who plays Allison, Brianne Tju, who plays Margot, Ezekiel Goodman as Dylan, Ashley Moore as Riley, and Sebastian Amoruso as Johnny.

I Know What You Did Last Summer's original author returned to the franchise as the series' showrunner, and she also wrote multiple episodes, including the finale.

What has I Know What You Did Last Summer 's showrunner and cast said about Season 2?

Before the first season of the show even began airing on Amazon Prime Video, showrunner Goodman said that she already had plans for a follow-up.

In an interview with comicbook.com, Goodman said: "There's a couple of different versions that could be Season 2, for sure.

"And yes, it can certainly be reinvented. Maybe if there's characters alive, maybe if there's not."

Fiona Rene, who portrays police officer Lyla, has also spoken about a potential second season, telling The List that they were keen to continue exploring her character.

They said: "I think that there's just so much more to explore that I'm really hungry for a Season 2. Come on, give it to us. I want it. Give it to me. Who wouldn't want to shoot another season in Hawaii?"

Will there be a Season 2 of I Know What You Did Last Summer?

Amazon Prime Video have yet to comment on whether there will be another season of the teen drama.

The show's official Twitter account has promoted the finale, and how it will reveal who was at fault for the car accident, but no official word has been given on whether there'll be more to come.

However, no news is good news too, as Amazon Prime Video have not said that the show is a limited series which means there is a strong possibility it will have a follow-up season, and it also hasn't been cancelled yet.
