If I Ruled the World: Luc Jacquet

Luc Jacquet is the director of Ice and the Sky, the closing movie at Cannes Film Festival this week.

One law I would pass: I'd pass legislation about the sustainability of the environment.

Who I'd ennoble: Claude Lorius. A far-seeing climate specialist, he's the amazing character of my upcoming feature movie, Ice and the Sky. And with him, I would ennoble all the scientists who allow us to understand the world.

One thing you would ban: Oil, even though it is a great material, I believe that oil has caused us a lot of harm. Renewable energy – that's our future.

Who I would exile to Siberia: Me! I love secluded places. In general, human relations improve when the natural conditions they are in are tightened. In the middle of nowhere, human's best values come out.

Where I would build my palace: My own palace would be a camping tent. That would allow me to wander all around the planet until the end of days, to satisfy the immense curiosity I have about our world.

The book every child would have to read: The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. There is in this book a universal humanity.
