'It Is An Invasion': Guest Tells Fox Business Host Lou Dobbs That Americans Are Getting 'Raped' by Cost of Immigration

A discussion on the Fox Business Network (FBN) saw one guest call for President Donald Trump to make good on his threat to close the southern U.S. border as she described those seeking to enter the country as "scammers."

Host Lou Dobbs was discussing the Trump rally being held in Michigan, saying supporters could feel vindicated by the findings of the report by special counsel Robert Mueller.

In a segment captioned "Vindication Celebration," Dobbs said that Trump's supporters had been "put through holy hell by these ignorant, deceptive, politically corrupt radical Dems," and then added "it is time for payback."

One of his guests, the former New York lieutenant governor Betsy McCaughey, then took the opportunity to talk about immigration.

Trump reacted on Thursday to the statement by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Kevin McAleenan that immigration enforcement has reached a "breaking point."

The president renewed his threat to close off the southern border, saying that Mexico is "all talk and no action" in stopping a flow of migrants into the U.S.

Referring to Trump supporters, McCaughey said they "are not being fooled by all this rhetoric, all this fake sympathy for the asylum scammers at the southern border either.

"Believe me, most Americans know they are getting raped by all of the expense of this, and they are glad this president is going to solve this problem, and he ought to close the border tomorrow.

"He ought to close it right away, because he has the leverage," she added, according to Mediaite, referring to the Mueller report that found no evidence that the Trump campaign had colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 elections.

The host of Lou Dobbs Tonight said, "He should, and he said he would, he might, but the fact is, we have a border right now with people pouring across it. He's called it an invasion, it is."

McCaughey quickly agreed with that term, saying that "it is an invasion," and added that she was "amazed the Democrats have the nerve to express sympathy" for the asylum-seekers at the border.

"We won't tolerate people scamming their way into college, but these people are scamming their way into the country," she said.

Trump has previously made threats to close the southern border, in November and December. He referred to the border frequently during his 83-minute speech at the rally in Grand Rapids on Thursday, saying that new portions of the wall are currently being built, although there is no evidence of this.

"If you look at the border, if you look at the hundreds of thousands of people that are invading, or at least trying to invade our country, you would know that we need it and we're building it," Trump said.
