Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Celebrating With Alexander Ovechkin and Stanley Cup at DC Restaurant

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were pictured celebrating the Washington Capitals Stanley Cup Victory with members of the team at a Washington D.C. restaurant Saturday, and the meet up was reportedly all a coincidence.

According to ABC News, Trump and Kushner were dining at Cafe Milano when Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin and some of his teammates came through the restaurant with the Stanley Cup. The Capitals beat the Las Vegas Golden Knights Thursday to win the NHL championship.

Because Ovechkin is from Russia, some Twitter users joked that the photo was proof of collusion between Russia and the Trump administration. "Looks like they must've colluded with Russia through Ivanka to win the Stanley Cup," one user commented. "WHEN WILL IT END!!!?"

Another comment read "Alex Ovechkin may be coming to the White House with the Stanley Cup. Then you'll have proof of 'Russia Collusion.'"

Ovechkin, a vocal supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, announced an informal celebrity campaign to support him on Instagram in November. "Today I want to announce that I am creating a public movement called Putin's Team," the post said.

"I never concealed my attitude towards our President, always openly supporting him," he said. "So let's unite and show everyone a strong and united Russia!"

Despite the support for Putin, the Capitals superstar has also said he wants to stay out of politics. "I'm not a politic," he said. "I don't know what's happening out there. I know it's a hard situation, but it is what it is. You know, I play here, and this is my second home. I don't want to fight between two countries, because it's going to be a mess."

President Donald Trump congratulated the Capitals, and Ovechkin specifically on Twitter following the win. "Congratulations to the Washington Capitals on their GREAT play and winning the Stanley Cup Championship," he said. "Alex Ovechkin, the team captain, was spectacular- a true Superstar! D.C. is popping, in many ways! What a time!"

Cafe Milano was just one stop the capital's celebration tour with the Stanley Cup. Photos posted online show the team swimming in a D.C. fountain over the weekend and drinking beer out of the trophy at a Washington Nationals game.
