Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Jelly Roll recently unveiled his impressive transformation, sharing that he shed over 70 pounds in anticipation of the upcoming 2 Bears 5K with Bert Kreishcher and Tom Segura, which is scheduled for May.

"I'm probably down 70-something pounds," Jelly told People. "I've been really kicking ass, man. I'm doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I'm doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I'm eating healthy right now."

The inception of the 5K ideaoriginated from comedians Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura on their podcast. Following Jelly's appearance on the Full Send podcast, host Kyle Forgeard persuaded him to join in on the fun. The run will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on May 7. This event has been the driving force behind Jelly's remarkable weight loss journey — and his determination shows no signs of waning.

With less than a month until the 5K, Jelly shared that he "feel[s] really good." He continued: "I was thinking, I plan on losing another 100, 100-and-something [pounds]. If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I'm going to feel like by the time I go on tour."

Jelly announced his participation in the 5k with a post on Instagram in January 2024. "This message is for Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura. Somebody let them know I'm in for the 5k in May. Kyle Forgeard gassed me up. I'm ready to go. Anyone wanna join me?" he wrote in the caption, as he shared a video of himself as he walked his dog.
