Jennifer Lawrence Addresses Rumor She 'F*****' Harvey Weinstein

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence recently addressed rumors she had sex with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Lawrence, 32, braved a pending New York City thunderstorm to participate in Vogue's 73 Questions program for the first time.

The star played a round of mini-golf outdoors in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as she answered questions about giving birth, Robert De Niro and which directors she'd most like to work with.

But there was one question Lawrence answered without flinching.

"What's the most bizarre thing you've ever read about yourself?" the unseen interviewer asked Lawrence.

Lawrence paused, but decisively answered: "That I f**ked Harvey Weinstein."

It's not the first time Lawrence has publicly addressed the rumors that she slept with Weinstein.

A 2018 lawsuit filed against Weinstein by an unnamed woman for sexual assault claimed he bragged that he had slept with Lawrence and helped her career as a result.

Lawrence worked with The Weinstein Company on the 2012 film Silver Linings Playbook, which earned the actress an Academy Award.

The woman claimed Weinstein pressured her into performing oral sex on him and when she refused claimed he'd slept with Lawrence.

"Do you even want to be an actress?" the lawsuit alleged Weinstein as saying to the woman. "I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is; she has just won an Oscar."

Lawrence later clarified her "professional relationship" with Weinstein when she joined the likes of Meryl Streep to condemn his attorney's tactics in the 2018 lawsuit.

In a class action suit filed by six women, Weinstein's lawyers tried to stop the legal proceedings from going ahead by name-dropping several famous Hollywood women who previously publicly supported Weinstein.

"Jennifer Lawrence, who told Oprah Winfrey she had known Weinstein since she was 20 years old and said 'he had only ever been nice to me,' and Meryl Streep, who stated publicly that Weinstein had always been respectful to her in their working relationship," the suit read.

Lawrence responded soon after by slamming Weinstein's tactics.

"Harvey Weinstein and his company are continuing to do what they have always done, which is to take things out of context and use them for their own benefit," the Red Sparrow actress said. "This is what predators do, and it must stop."

"For the record, while I was not victimized personally by Harvey Weinstein, I stand behind the women who have survived his terrible abuse and I applaud them in using all means necessary to bring him to justice whether through criminal or civil actions. Time's up," Lawrence added.

Weinstein later apologized to Streep and Lawrence in a statement provided to Newsweek.

Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for multiple sex crimes.

Accusations of Weinstein's sexual abuse were first brought to light in October 2017 and became a leading trigger of the MeToo and Time's Up movements, which sought to end sexual harassment not only in Hollywood but by all people in positions of power.

Weinstein was charged in May 2018 with multiple counts of rape, criminal sex act, sexual abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women.

Weinstein was convicted in February 2020 and found guilty of one count of criminal sexual assault in the first degree and one count of rape in the third degree.

The court sentenced him to 23 years in prison on March 11, 2020, and although his lawyers appealed the verdicts and sentence, the New York State Supreme Court upheld the rulings in June this year.

However, in the same month, it was announced the Hollywood producer will be charged in the United Kingdom with two further counts of indecent assault dating back to the 1990s.

The new charges relate to an incident with a woman in London, England, which allegedly took place in August 1996, the Crown Prosecution Service in the U.K. said in June 2022.

The most recent charges were authorized following a review of evidence gathered by the British Metropolitan Police, according to Rosemary Ainslie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division.

"The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against the defendant are active and that he has the right to a fair trial," Ainslie said.

The CPS also reminded people on social media that there should be "no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."

The CPS has authorized the Met Police to charge Weinstein with two counts of indecent assault.
