Jimmy Kimmel Gives Donald Trump a New Nickname

Jimmy Kimmel has a new nickname for Donald Trump after the politician posted a "venomous" social media post about him on Wednesday.

The talk show host dubbed Trump "Ranta Claus" during last night's installment of Jimmy Kimmel Live, explaining that he'd "once again ruffled [the] feathers of our Kentucky-fried former president."

"When I got out of bed at 9 a.m., I had 100 text messages," the 56-year-old said, with Trump allegedly still "smarting" over Kimmel's Oscars joke.

Trump mocked Kimmel's hosting skills on Truth Social during March's Academy Awards ceremony, with the comedian reading the post out loud to the audience.

"Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars," Trump wrote.

"His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be.

"Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC 'talent,' George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous."

The 77-year-old continued: "Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years - Disjointed, boring, and very unfair.

"Why don't they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

After sharing Trump's social media takedown, Kimmel asked Oscars attendees: "See if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social. Anyone? No?"

"Well, thank you, President Trump," he added. "Thank you for watching, I'm surprised you're still—isn't it past your jail time?"

The audience burst into laughter and applause, but Trump didn't immediately respond to the jibe.

Fresh Attack

However, the business mogul apparently hasn't forgiven Kimmel, attacking the comedian again via Truth Social on Wednesday.

"Stupid Jimmy Kimmel, who still hasn't recovered from his horrendous performance and big ratings drop as Host of The Academy Awards, especially when he showed he suffered from TDS, commonly known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, to the entire World by reading on air my TRUTH about how bad a job he was doing that night, right before he stumbled through announcing the biggest award of all, "Picture of the Year," Trump wrote.

"It was a CLASSIC CHOKE, one of the biggest ever in show business, and to top it off, he forgot to say the famous and mandatory line, 'AND THE WINNER IS.' Instead he stammered around as he opened the envelope.

"Supposedly his wife, and even management, begged him not to do it, 'DON'T READ HIS TRUTH, JIMMY, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS,' they said. He was made to look like a FOOL, which he is, and at the same time go down in Television History as the WORST HOST EVER OF THE ONCE VAUNTED ACADEMY AWARDS!"

Since being shared, Trump's post has received 393,000 "Retruths" and more than 15,000 likes.

Joking about Trump's ongoing "hush money" trial in New York, which began on Monday, Kimmel asked why the former president was using his day off from court to savage him on social media.

"How did he spend it? Brunch with Melania? Maybe [playing] catch with [his son] Barron in the yard?" Kimmel said.

"No, no, Ranta Claus got up bright and early to post 165 venomous words about yours truly."

After reading Trump's post to the audience, Kimmel suggested Americans should be "worried" about the presumptive Republican candidate for 2024, describing Trump as "take the keys away from Grandpa wrong."

The Emmy winner lambasted Trump's claim that viewership was low for the 2024 Academy Awards, telling the audience that "the ratings went up this year." He also corrected the real estate magnate's allegations about the Best Picture presentation, reminding Trump that Al Pacino hosted the award this year.

"We are different people," Kimmel quipped. "Now don't get me wrong, I wish I was Al Pacino, I'm just not."

Kimmel rebuffed Trump's claim that Oscars hosts must say "and the winner is" while presenting awards.

"Not correct, that is not the mandatory line," Kimmel said. "Also, still not me. I did not present the award for best picture."

"Maybe you dreamed this during one of your courtroom siestas," he added, referring to rumors that Trump fell asleep during Monday's court proceedings.

Finally, Kimmel denied Trump's claims that his wife and management "begged him" not to read out Trump's post during the ceremony.

"In his stories, everyone's always begging, which is not at all what happened," he continued. "What happen is I saw, they showed me what he posted, I looked at it and said 'oh I'm going to read this.'

"'My wife went 'oh no,' [and] I said 'oh yes.'"

Kimmel is a long-time critic of Trump, with the jokester previously ridiculing the Republican's court appearances, mocking his "very dumb crime family," and comparing him to Hitler.
