Biden to Name First Cabinet Picks Tuesday, As Trump Bemoans Swift Actions

President-elect Joe Biden will name his first Cabinet picks Tuesday as he continues to push on with preparing for the presidency despite President Donald Trump's continued refusal to concede and disdain at the Democrat's push to form his administration.

Ron Klain, who has been named as Biden's chief of staff, detailed this forthcoming announcement on Sunday though would not be drawn on what posts would be outlined nor who might fill them.

Speaking on ABC News' This Week he said: "You're going to see the first of the president-elect's cabinet appointments on Tuesday of this week, meeting the pace, beating in fact the pace that was set by the Obama-Biden transition, beating the pace set by the Trump transition.

"If you wanna know what cabinet agencies they are and who's going to be in those cabinet agencies you're going to have to wait for the president-elect to say that himself on Tuesday."

This comes with Biden having moved forward with forming his transition team and appointing high-profile staff roles, despite the president's continued push against the election outcome—which networks have called Biden's way. However, the president has claimed—without fully substantiating his points—that foul play facilitated the Democrats' success.

Klain's comments come after the president previously question for "so quickly forming a Cabinet."

In a recent tweet he spoke of "hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes," which he claimed could change the outcome in several states and thus the election outcome.

The president's team has launched lawsuits in several states, having claimed widespread irregularities.

These have so far failed to evidence the allegations made by the president and his allies.

Biden has persisted with the transition process, despite his team having been hurdled by a lack of access to information and resources usually signed off by the General Services Administration.

He has spoken of this potential causing issues down the line, having suggested the lack of access to certain information could eventually hamper the COVID-19 vaccine rollout process.

Biden will be looking to name his Cabinet choices, with the hope of these being able to be confirmed by the Senate as swiftly as possible. Biden faces tough choices in his picks, as he faces contrasting calls from moderate and progressive wings of the Democrat party.
