Joe Biden Joke About Sex With Jill Biden Raises Eyebrows

A joke President Joe Biden made about sex with his wife, first lady Jill Biden, has upset some conservatives.

Biden joked that the key to his 47-year marriage is "good sex," according to an excerpt from White House journalist Katie Rogers' forthcoming book, American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady, From Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden, which was obtained by the Daily Mail.

The Friday report raised eyebrows among the president's critics, with some wondering on social media whether it was distasteful for Biden to make the joke and others contrasting the comment with the falling incidents he's experienced in recent months.

"WTH IS THIS?!" one MAGA supporter asked in a post on X (formerly Twitter). "We're now in the stage where leftist reporters are fantasizing about Joe Biden's sex life (not Trump supporters who are the cultists). Ain't no sane or semi-sane individual wants to know about this."

Conservative radio host Bo Snerdley wrote, "I don't even know what to say about this post. Why?"

Clay Travis, the founder of conservative sports news site OutKick, tweeted, "Joe Biden who can't climb the stairs without falling, says the secret to his marriage is 'good sex.' Really."

"Not fooling anyone but himself," another X user agreed. "The guy cant even walk up stairs, form a sentence or work more than a few hrs, no way this is true. Why is this the POTUS message & at his age."

Newsweek reached out to Rogers' publisher, Crown, via email for comment.

American Woman details how each first lady since the Clinton era has shaped the position and offers "a full picture of Jill Biden while exploring how she helps answer the evolving question of what the role of the modern First Lady should be," according to the publisher's description. It will be released February 27.

Biden's jokes about his love for his wife are not new. He often introduces himself as "Jill Biden's husband" and expresses his feelings for her in his speeches.

Asked about running for president in 2006, the then-senator responded, "I'd rather be at home making love to my wife while my children are asleep."

The first lady has also spoken about their relationship, writing in her memoir, "One thing in my life has stayed the same: Joe and I have always had each other."

According to the copy of American Woman obtained by the Daily Mail, the first lady is very involved in Biden's political career. Rogers writes, "She is present for every major political discussion involving her husband and sits in during the interview process on most major Biden staff hires, from cabinet secretaries to spokespeople."

The president did receive some support over his "good sex" comment.

One social media user said, "I'd take 81 year old Joe Biden who supports abortion, marriage equality, student debt forgiveness, Obamacare and talks about 'good sex' any day of the week over Trump."

"Joe Biden is not wrong here," another wrote. "Just about every couple in America would agree 'good sex' plays a huge role in having a successful relationship."
