President Joe Biden was met with a round of applause after he mocked the Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert during this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner.
The president gave a speech at the annual event for journalists, politicians and celebrities, which celebrates political journalists and raises money for scholarships, and was founded in 1914 and has held a dinner most years since 1921.
At one point in his address, he referenced the Colorado Congresswoman's theater scandal, causing the audience to laugh and clap.
He said: "Look, being here is a reminder that folks think what's going on in congress is political theater. That's not true. If Congress were theater, they would have thrown out Lauren Boebert a long time ago."
In September, Boebert was caught on film at a screening of the film Beetlejuice. Seen fondling each other on tape, Boebert and her date were eventually asked to leave. Footage also showed her vaping and raising her middle finger at employees as she was leaving.
Newsweek contacted representatives for Boebert by email outside of business hours to comment on this story.

Elsewhere during the speech the Democrat mocked his political rival Donald Trump.
"Yes, age is an issue. I'm a grown man, running against a 6-year-old," the Democrat said at the event.
He later added: "Age is the only thing we have in common. My vice president actually endorses me," referencing Trump's tense relationship with former vice president Mike Pence.
Biden also mocked Trump over gaffes he has made in recent speeches and his criminal trials.
In response, the Republican lashed out at the event on his social media platform Truth Social.
He wrote: "White House Correspondents' Dinner was really bad. Colin Jost BOMBED, and Crooked Joe was an absolute disaster! Doesn't get much worse than this!"
Chris Sununu, the Republican governor of New Hampshire, reacted to the speech. He said, as per The Guardian: "The president made it through the speech so that's a win for him at such a late hour. It's never easy as a politician to deliver a joke. We're not made to be funny. Don't expect us to be funny. So any time you're a politician, you get even a slight laugh, that's a win. "
