John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John Reunite in Their 'Grease' Costumes

Stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have revived nostalgia for their classic 1978 movie musical, Grease.

Reprising their iconic roles as Danny and Sandy, Travolta and Newton-John donned outfits similar to those worn in the movie for an appearance at the Meet n' Grease sing-along event in West Palm Beach, Florida on Friday.

Newton-John took to her Instagram account to share an image of she and her Grease co-star. In the picture, the singer is spotted sporting a yellow cardigan and skirt set, while Travolta is seen dressed in Danny's signature all-black ensemble, complete with leather motorcycle jacket.

"First time in costume since we made the movie," Newton-John wrote on her instragram post. "So excited!!"

In her most-recent memoir, Don't Stop Believin', Newton-John recalled about working with Travolta during the Grease filming from over 40 years ago. "I couldn't deny the on-screen spark we were creating. What I liked the most about the whole Danny/Sandy vibe that day was that, as characters, they were equals. She might have looked pure and innocent, but she followed her heart and her head while staying true-blue to her choices. He could dish it out, but so could she."

Travolta and Newton-John worked together after Grease; the two appeared in the 1983 film Two of a Kind. In 2012, they released a holiday album, This Christmas.

"I was asked who would be my perfect leading leading lady in Grease, and there was only one human being on this planet I could see as Sandy," Travolta recalled in Newton-John's memoir. "That person was Olivia Newton-John."

This is the second time the "Physical" singer made headlines in connection with Grease memorabilia. Earlier in the week, Newton-John was gifted with Sandy's famous end-of-movie leather jacket by an anonymous donor, who bought it at auction for $243,200 last month (The leather pants she wore in the film sold for $162,500 at the same auction as well).

"This jacket belongs to you and the collective soul of those who love you, those for whom you are the soundtrack of their lives," the anonymous donor said in a viral video, as previously reported by entertainment news site Just Jared. "It should not sit in a billionaire's closet for country club bragging rights. For this reason I humbly and respectfully return it to its rightful owner, which is you. Godspeed for a quick recovery."

According to reports, proceeds of the purchase will go to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre, an Australia-based institution the Grease star launched after her first battle with breast cancer in 1992.
