Manchester United will pursue Barcelona defender Jordi Alba as a summer transfer target, according to reports.

Manager José Mourinho reportedly has doubts over the Old Trafford future of Luke Shaw, according to the Manchester Evening News, and would like a new left back.

Alba, 28, has been a mainstay of the Barcelona side since moving from Valencia in 2012 but like several members of Luis Enrique's side he has suffered during a sometimes tumultuous season in Catalunya.

Shaw, meanwhile, needs to convince Mourinho he can regain the form he showed to earn a move to United, before a horrific leg break suffered against PSV Eindhoven in September 2015 stalled his career.
